Eye Care |

The eye test can take between 20-30 min which is dependent on the patient.
We like to be flexible and try to cater to everyone’s needs.
At Supa Spex Opticians we care about the health of your eyes. An eye examination helps us to detect any eye conditions such as:
- Age Related Macular Degeneration
- Cataract
- Diabetes
- Glaucoma
- High Blood Pressure
- Unexplained Headaches
as well as other possible various health conditions which may go unnoticed.
We will make sure your eyesight continues to be as clear and as comfortable as possible with your most recent prescription |

FREE EYE TEST |
An NHS funded eye test is available at Supa Spex Opticians
You qualify for a free NHS funded sight test if you are:
- Aged under 16
- Aged 16,17 or 18 in full time education
- Aged 60 or over
- Diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
- Considered to be at risk of glaucoma (as advised by an ophthalmologist)
- Aged 40 or over and the parent, brother, sister, son or daughter of a person diagnosed with glaucoma
- Registered blind or partially sighted
- Eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher (your optician will advise on your entitlement)
- Claiming Benefit (Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-based Employment and Support Allowance, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit or receiving Tax Credits and meeting qualifying conditions)
- On a low income and named on a valid HC2 (full help) or HC3 (partial help) certificate
- A prisoner being seen outside prison

You may also qualify for an optical voucher which provides financial help towards the cost of your spectacles or contact lenses if you are:
- Aged under 16
- Aged 16, 17 or 18 in full time education
- Eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher (your optician will advise on your entitlement)
- Claiming Benefit (Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Pension Credit
- Guarantee Credit or receiving Tax Credits and meeting qualifying conditions)
- On a low income and named on a valid HC2 (full help) or HC3 (partial help) certificate
- A prisoner on leave from prison

Supa Spex Optician can arrange home visits in Birmingham |
In order to qualify for a home visit service, there are certain criteria that need to be met. If a person is not able to leave their home due to a medical condition eg severe Arthritis, poor mobility etc, phone us on 0121 328 5700 and we can advise you. If one or more of the following apply to you, then you are eligible for a free home visit.
- Over 60 years of age
- Diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma or considered to be at risk of glaucoma
- Over 40 years of age and be a sibling, child or parent of someone who has glaucoma
- Registered blind or partially sighted
- Claiming benefit (Income support, JSA, pension credits etc)
